I don't know how most pastors feel...but it seems to me that Sunday comes quicker than any other day. Here at the Ridge, we have three service times...so I preach three times and bam! before I know it, Sunday is here again.
For awhile I took Fridays as my day off, but I quickly learned that I was toast on Mondays, so I switched. However, now it seems I start my week off behind because it begins on Tuesdays.
I'd be interested to hear how other pastors get their rest and their days off...and how they deal with trying to have a relevant, biblical, engaging message every 7 days.

i've also heard that mondays are a bad day to take off because our families get us in a worn out state.
i was encouraged to use my mondays for administration, errands and work that could be down while i'm a bit drained.
then tuesdays start with a lot of stuff for the week being behind me.
i take friday's off and prefer it. i find that a steady diet of expository preaching allows me to start my next week off having already considered what the message will be about.
i'm never blindsided with a message. i've been able to see it coming for weeks...even months. it's helped keep me from being overwhelmed.
thanks for the comments, Danny. i'm still experimenting to see what works best for me and my family...but some good thoughts.
