Dialogue 08 is just 36 days away!

I am getting stoked about this year's "Dialogue 08" event. Any time you can get a group of creative pastors & church planters together it is awesome!

Like last year's event we will focus on facilitating conversations with those in attendance. Topics will include how to attract new folks to your church each week, how to assimilate those new people, how to grow your church even in a difficult economy, plus a whole lot more. "Dialogue 08" is a conference FOR church planters BY church planters. Plan on being with us for this free, day-long event. Continental breakfast begins at 8 a.m. and we will end our day at 6 p.m.

Two special guests will be with us at "Dialogue 08" - new church planter Kevin Jamison from the Oaks in Middletown, Ohio and Earl Rhynes of the volunteer construction group "Builders for Christ".

I'm praying for this year's event which is to be held on March 6th, 2008 at our in Brookville, Ohio.

Dialogue 08 set for March 6, 2008

A quick note to all church planter/pastors...the "New Church Cooperative" has set the date for this winter's get-together.

"Dialogue 08" is a one-day conference set for March 6th at Sycamore Ridge Community Church in Brookville, Ohio. There is no cost for this conference. We will begin with registration and a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. Lunch will be "on your own" and we will finish up at 6 p.m.

Our format will be similar to last year with lots of interaction between church planters and pastors as well as interested "lay people". We will have a special speaker this year, his name is Kevin Jamison and he is the pastor/planter for the Oaks Community Church in Middletown, Ohio. We will also have a representative here from the "Builders for Christ" organization that mobilizes volunteers to build facilities for churches.

Please spread the word to all who you think may be interested. Watch this space for more information as we get closer to the date.

If you want to be on our email list, please email me at darrelbob-at-yahoo.com

So what - a New Year

Happy New Year fellow church planters and pastors! I hope you got at least a little bit of rest & relaxation during the Christmas Season.

Now that we are in 2008 I got to thinking "what's the big deal, anyway?" Sure it's January. Sure it's a New Year...it's 2008. But what does that mean to me as a pastor/planter?

Well, even though it is just another day in many ways...a New Year at least gives us the chance to psychologically begin with a clean slate. And for church planters and pastors we need psychological help!

Seriously, I would encourage you to do what I am trying to do on this cold January day. Take a few minutes to look back at 2007 and then plan ahead for 2008 by trying to avoid last year's mistakes.

May God bless you as you seek His leadership in your all-important Kingdom-building adventures in 2008.
